Intuitive Reiki

A close friend calls my work “Intuitive Reiki”;  a near enough description of what I do that I have decided to continue using it. The difference between a conventional Reiki session and Intuitive Reiki is that during the session I receive specific information that I relay to you after the actual Reiki energy balancing.

In my practice, Reiki is self-care; Reiki is self-love;  I hold a space for you to allow and accept your own self-love.  My Reiki Master teacher Lillian Kurosaka,  in my first session with her,  described Reiki as “45 minutes of being unconditionally loved”.

In a more “practical” way,  a Reiki session is an opportunity for your energetic body to re-balance/re-harmonize itself.

A basic session is about 40-60 minutes of a “soul massage” (Reiki) followed by 45-60 minutes of my reporting to you information that I received about you during the session (your “reading”:  not Reiki).

What happens in a Reiki session

  • I will ask you to set an intention for the session
  • You will lie face-up on a massage table (unless you prefer to sit)
  • We will scan your physical body for any pertinent information (with focus on the organs/meridians)
  • We will scan your energetic body for any pertinent information (with focus on the Chakras)
  • We scan at the beginning of the session to “see” the existing patterns coming into the session:  much of this will shift during the session and afterwards.
  • We will soothe your head energy with light touch there
  • We will then ground your legs and especially feet with firm touch
  • We will sometimes touch at physical ailment/injury sites (I generally do not use very much touch in a session)
  • We will frequently return to foot grounding throughout the session as needed

Most of the session is my holding an open energetic space for your rebalancing and whatever other processes you call in for yourself. This happens through my focusing on Reiki symbols or simple observation of your energetic field.

REMOTE SESSIONS

Reiki sessions are generally given in person;  nevertheless, long-distance sessions are just as useful, and sometimes even more focused.  For me,  I am present in exactly the same way,  with the exception that I “imagine” your presence on the table and “imagine” my movements and touches.  These sessions are generally set up by a 5 minute telephone call immediately before, followed by “the reading” on the telephone or on a Skype/Zoom conference call.

What you might experience

These are just some of the more often client-reported experiences:

  • Occasional tingling, twitching, rippling energetic sensations in the muscles and skin
  • Gentle digestive tract activity
  • Deep and peaceful relaxation of the mind
  • Deep and peaceful relaxation of the body
  • Dream-like images and experiences
  • Bursts of intuitive insight and knowledge
  • Drifting off or total absence of awareness (this is not sleep)
  • A sense of visiting “other worlds”
  • On arising you may feel energized, dreamy/spacey, relaxed and peaceful

In the reading

Readings vary in length and content but generally contain some or all of the following:

  • An overall theme related to your growth and development and/or health
  • Information that you are meant to receive (I do not receive “everything” but apparently only what you are meant to hear at the current moment)
  • Specific information about your body, your mind, your emotional balance, your spiritual path
  • Specific areas of focus for you including:
    • Information about behavioral patterning and possible shifts
    • Social interaction patterns and possible shifts
    • Diet and exercise
    • Daily/regular practice possibilities
    • How to initiate or improve your connection to your own higher guidance/wisdom
